Program Overview
The Principal Endorsement MUST accompany the MED Program/Core Requirements.
Principal Endorsement, PK-8
The WSOE offers a 36 credit hour Master’s degree option that results in a student earning their PK-8 Principal Endorsement in the State of Nebraska. In some instances, students may be required to take more or less than the typical course of study. Questions should be directed to the student’s advisor, who will collaborate with the student to determine his/her/their course of study. Candidates must hold a valid teaching certificate and have at least two years of teaching experience to be eligible for enrollment in this program.Â
Principal Endorsement, 6-12
The WSOE offers a 36 credit hour Master’s degree option that results in a student earning their 6-12 Principal Endorsement in the State of Nebraska. In some instances, students may be required to take more or less than the typical course of study. Questions should be directed to the student’s advisor, who will collaborate with the student to determine his/her/their course of study. Candidates must hold a valid teaching certificate and have at least two years of teaching experience to be eligible for enrollment in this program.

The WSOE offers a 45 credit hour Master’s degree option that results in a student earning their PK-12 Principal Endorsement in the State of Nebraska. In some instances, students may be required to take more or less than the typical course of study. Questions should be directed to the student’s advisor, who will collaborate with the student to determine his/her/their course of study. Candidates must hold a valid teaching certificate and have at least two years of teaching experience to be eligible for enrollment in this program.
Principal Endorsement Extension Option
Students who already hold a Master’s degree and have an active principal endorsement (PK-8 or 6-12) in the state of Nebraska are eligible to extend their principal endorsement by taking 9 additional graduate credit hours. The extension options are outlined below:
1. Endorsement Extension (Add to current active principal endorsement), 6-12 (9)
2. Endorsement Extension (Add to current active principal endorsement), PK-8 (9)
